On the 16th of July 2021 with the signing of the status change – the accession, the process of accession of Ohridska banka AD Skopje to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija AD Skopje was officially completed. Now, the integrated Sparkasse Banka Makedonija AD Skopje belongs to the group of large banks, taking the fourth position in the banking sector.

With the successful completion of the accession process, Sparkasse Banka Makedonija expanded its client base and enlarged its market share to 13,4% in the individual clients segment, and 15,1% in the corporate clients segment. The integrated Sparkasse Banka Makedonija will now service more than 120.000 clients in the country, through 35 branch offices, and a wide network of ATM’s at around 100 locations in the country.

With a total active of 1,15 billion euro, Sparkasse Banka Makedonija positioned itself in the large banks in the sector as the second largest bank in the corporate clients segment, and the third largest bank in the individual clients segment, offering attracting products and services to their clients, as well as an expertise that stems from Erste and Sparkasse Group.

Which changes were made in Sparkasse Bank Macedonia?

With the accession of Ohridska banka AD Skopje to Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD Skopje, Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD Skopje grew into a bigger and a more powerful bank, with assets of about 1 billion euros, and with that it positioned itself as the fourth largest bank in the Republic of North Macedonia.

How will the new Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD look like?

In the branch offices of the former Ohridska banka AD Skopje you will notice a change of the logo and the visual identity of the bank, according to the newest visual standards set by the Sparkasse Group.

How will this change affect me as a client?

The accession will not influence the terms of the products and the services which were previously agreed and which you are using in the moment. At the same time, as a result of the accession of Ohridska banka AD Skopje to Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD Skopje, the quality of the products and services which we offer to all of our clients and business partners will significantly improve. Do I need to visit my branch office?

There is no need for you to visit your branch office at this time, but you are always welcomed to visit to get any additional information that our employees can provide you with.

What will happen with my branch office and my branch officer, will they remain the same?

Will the interest rates of my bank loan change?

Your bank loan is not subject to any changes and the conditions that are determined in the bank loan contract will remain the same.

What will happen with my deposits? Will there be any changes of the interest rates?

The conditions to which you agreed upon will remain the same. Your deposits are safe with an interest rate that was determined with the agreement made with the bank.

Will my account number remain the same?

If you are already a client at Sparkasse Banka Makedonija, there will not be any changes to your account number.

If you were a client of Ohridska bank AD Skopje, your account number has been changed. You can check your new account number in Sparkasse Banka Mackedonija AD Skopje on the following link

From the day of accession of the two banks, the accounts of the clients of Ohridska banka AD Skopje will be changed and the old account numbers will be impossible to be used for payments and for recreceiving funds. There is no additional engagement required on your side, such as transferring funds from the old to the new account, etc. Your sole obligation is to notify your employer, as well as all individuals or legal entities and institutions, in a timely manner about the new account number, so that the transactions and inflows you expect to be executed smoothly. After the accession, it will be impossible to make a payment on the old account, which completely prevents incorrect payments of funds.

Will the SWIFT code change?

From the day of the accession, the SWIFT code of Ohridska banka AD Skopje will not exist, meaning that the valid SWIFT code will be the one of Sparkasse Bank Macedonia – INSBMK22

From which date the denar transaction accounts and the foreign currency transaction accounts will not be available for use?

The denar transaction accounts and the foreign currency transaction accounts of the clients of Ohridska banka AD Skopje will not be functional after the day of the accession, 19.07.2021.

What will happen if I have an account in both Ohridska banka and Sparkasse Bank Macedonia?

The accounts of Ohridska banka AD Skopje will remain in the account reviews of Sparkasse Bank Macedonia AD, together with your existing accounts. The accounts will not be merged and their balance will remain unchanged. At your request, the accounts can be closed, if you will not use them in the future.

Will the accounts automatically change in the e-banking and m-banking applications?

Yes, the profiles and accounts in the e-banking and m-banking applications will be automatically synchronized and they will work for both the clients of the former Ohridska banka and the current clients of Sparkasse Bank Macedonia.

Will I be able to use my payment card that has the logo of Ohridska banka?

Yes, you will be able to continue to use the payment cards issued by the former Ohridska banka AD Skopje. The cards will be valid until the date which is indicated on the front side of the card.

Which ATM’s can I now use in Macedonia?

Will I be able to use the mobile application S-Banking?

On the day of accession of Ohridska banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija the mobile banking will be renamed, and it will be enriched with new functionalities. You will also recognize Sparkasse Banka Makedonija’s new mobile banking application S-Banka by the new logo. In order to continue to use the mobile application, you will need to install it and to register on the new application via Google Play Store/Apple Store. All functionalities that were available until now will continue to be at your disposal.

In order to continue to use the mobile application S-Banka with payment privileges you need to visit the nearest branch office of Sparkasse Banka Makedonija and sign a Request for usage of the mobile application with payment privileges and delivery of activation codes.

Sparkasse Banka Makedonija’s existing mobile application S-Banking will continue to function in the following period, but our recommendation for optimal use is to install the new application as soon as possible.

Will I be able to use the mobile application Moja Banka of Ohridska Banka?

Yes, you can continue to use the mobile application. On the day of accession of Ohridska banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija, the mobile banking will be rebranded and enriched with new functionalities. You will also recognize Sparkasse Banka Makedonija’s new mobile banking application S-Banka by the new logo. All functionalities that were available until now will continue to be at your disposal.

In order to use the new functionalities, you have to download the new version via Google Play Store/ Apple Store.

Apple users will need to register once again by following these 3 steps: step 1 – register with their ID Number, the last 4 digits of their card and the date of validity of the card, step 2 – input the activation code sent via SMS, step 3 – choosing a PIN code.

Will I be able to use the e-banking NetBanking?

Yes, you can continue to use the e-banking. On the day of accession of Ohridska banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija the e-banking will be enriched with new functionalities. All functionalities as well as the authorizations for the accounts that were available until now will continue to be at your disposal.

We would like to inform individual clients that starting from now, the transactions will be processed by using a QR code, generated through the S Token application. The OTP password will no longer be used to complete a transaction. You can download the manual for QR code payment on the following link.

S-Token is a software application that is installed and used on a smartphone or tablet, and it is used to identify the user and to confirm transactions (payments) in the e-banking system for individuals. The application is available on the Google Play Store and/or the Apple App Store.

Will I be able to use the e-banking application of Ohridska banka?

Yes, you can continue to use the e-banking, it will automatically redirect you to the www.netbanking.mk domain. If you are not automatically redirected, please access the www.netbanking.mk domain directly. On the day of accession of Ohridska banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija the e-banking will be enriched with new functionalities. All functionalities as well as the authorizations for the accounts that were available until now will continue to be at your disposal.

We would like to inform individual clients that the log-in process will be now easier, and instead of a 3 step authentication (username, password, and OTP password), the log-in will be in 2 steps: username and password, or username and OTP password.

In addition, the transactions for individual clients will now be processed through a QR code, generated through the S Token mobile application. The OTP password will no longer be used for completing a transaction. You can download the manual for QR code payment on the following link

For corporate clients users of e-banking, it will be possible to register with a username and password and / or with a USB token with a digital certificate. Clients that until now have been using USB token will continue to sign in by using the USB-token and PIN.

Will I be able to use the S-Token mobile application?

On the day of accession of Ohridska banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija the new mobile application S Token will be available. The existing S-Token application will be available for use, but in a limited time period for which you will be additionally informed. In order to continue to use the S-Token mobile application you will need to install and register on the new application via the Google Play Store/ Apple Store. You will also recognize Sparkasse Banka Makedonija’s new S Token mobile application by the new logo (the changes are minimal).

In order to use the S Token mobile application as a tool for help for payments made via the e-banking, you can distribute activation codes by yourself for the newly downloaded S Token application, by logging in with the existing S-Token on the e-banking for individual clients (Netbanking). On the home page there is a link (tab) through which you can initiate activation codes to be sent to you via SMS and email. This is a one-time option that will not be available in future log-ins.

The existing S-token mobile application of Sparkasse Bank Makedonija will continue to function in the upcoming period, but without the payment option, change of limits, etc. Our recommendation for optimal use is to install the newest version as soon as possible.

Will I be able to use mToken mobile application of Ohridska Banka?

Yes, you will be able to continue to use the mToken mobile application. On the day of the integration of the two banks the mToken mobile application will be rebranded as S Token and you will be able to download the new version via the Google Play Store/ Apple Store.

Android users with an OS >= 10 will have to download the new version and to register their information by following these three steps: step 1- sign up with their ID number, the last 4 digits of their card and the date of validity of their card, step 2 – write the activation code sent via SMS, step 3 – set up a PIN code. The flag will change only for the OS>10.

Will I be able to use the USB-token with the digital certificate?

Yes, you can continue to use the existing USB-token with the digital certificate issued by Sparkasse Bank Makedonija AD Skopje or by Ohridska Banka AD Skopje.

Additional informations for clients who use electronic channels in the two banks, Ohridska and Sparkasse Banka.

• For all clients of Ohridska Banka, both individuals and legal entities, the account numbers on the electronic channels will automatically change on the first day of the integration, and at the same time, the account numbers will change in the saved examples.

• The electronic channels of the banks will merge after the accession of Ohridska Banka to Sparkasse Banka Makedonija, but all accounts, products and etc. will not subject to any mergers and the clients can continue to use them as they have already done so. In the electronic channels through automated synchronization all accounts of the client that he used in the two banks will be included.

• The access to the accounts will also remain the same (info access or full access), based on the access that you use for the account in question.

• The legal entities who use e-banking in both banks, if they use different USB tokens, can continue to use them, or they can ask for a merger of their token privileges into one single USB token.

• The clients who use the same electronic channel in both banks with a different username will continue to use the username which they used for the electronic channel in Ohridska Banka.

• Sparkasse Banka’s clients whose username matches the one of another client, will be contacted by the Call center of the bank and informed about the new, changed username so that they can access the said electronic channel.
