  • Only buy from online sites of trusted companies.
  • Never enter the PIN – it is not required for a purchase order.
  • When you make a purchase order via the Internet, the seller usually requests the following data: first and second name, address, card number, validation code or 3 digit value (found on the back of the card) and expiration period of the card.
  • Make sure that the Internet site where you enter the data from your card is secure – look for a lock icon on the bottom right of the screen and check that the Internet address starts with https:// instead of http:// .
  • Keep records of the Internet sites you buy from Many of the Internet stores deliver an email to the buyer containing all the purchase data – print a copy.
  • Never send data from your card if you have not initiated the purchase.
  • Check the terms and conditions of sale and cancellation of the order, since in case of international payments you may be exposed to additional customs and other charges.
  • If you cancel your order after payment be sure to ask for the number confirming the cancellation to avoid paying for already cancelled order.
  • Ask for a seller’s contact number and email and write them down.
